What else can be done?

More importantly is that we should all be looking to reduce CO2 emissions in the future whether we are buying or selling a property. So if you own a property and want to do more for the environment, you can help by looking at 3 important aspects of your house.

The age of your property dictates to what building regulations it was built to and thus, how well insulated your property is. Just because you have an insulated loft, it does not mean you can't improve it.

Next look at how your hot water is heated and stored. From the boiler, from electrical elements or solar panels. Once it is heated, how is it stored. If by a cylinder, how well is it insulated?

Lastly, do you know how old your boiler is and how efficient it is. Do you have open fire places and can these become more efficient?
